Greeted by the fresh air and rolling countryside, we arrived ready to relax and made a beeline for the lake where we sat with a drink in hand while the sun went down and dinner cooked in the electric Aga. When a chill started to fill the air we wrapped ourselves in the cosy blankets on the pontoon so we could enjoy it for a little bit longer. We then retreated into the cosy kitchen for a hearty dinner. Once full we were excited to investigate the entertainment barn and take a dip in the hot tub! We cast open the huge barn doors as the last of the daylight faded behind the mountains to the West and stars began to twinkle in the night sky. Listening to music and sipping Prosecco in the hot tub while the cool night air drifted through the open archway couldn’t have been more perfect.

After a movie curled up on the comfy sofas in the living room, we were ready to head upstairs for the most restful sleep of our lives in the sumptuous super king-size beds. Waking up refreshed the next morning, we headed out to explore the local area. Walking around the quaint country town of Ruthin, we were greeted by friendly locals enjoying an annual town event in the streets. We took in the history of the area, investigating the ruins of Ruthin Castle and exploring the corridors of the old gaol. After lunch in one of the local pubs we were excited to get back to Eirianfa to make the most of the extensive facilities.

Back at the property, we headed straight back to the amazing entertainment barn for a bit of friendly competition - first in a game of table tennis outside, and then onto the pool table and dartboard in the games room (whilst enjoying a few drinks from the adjoining bar of course!). Lured by the memory of the previous night’s hot tub experience we were desperate to give it another whirl, so after skipping back into the house to change into our fluffy bathrobes, we threw open the barn doors once again and slipped into the bubbles with a movie playing on the big screen TV overhead.

The next morning, we enjoyed a breakfast of croissants, coffee and orange juice in the garden before adventuring back down to the private lake where we decided to take the rowing boat out for a spin. We had a giggle clambering aboard, and once safely in the boat we took it in turns to row around the lake before resting in the middle to soak up the sun and the glorious views surrounding us. Gazing back up the lawn towards the house, we agreed that Eirianfa was without a doubt our dream home and that we never wanted to leave.

Our time in Wales couldn’t have been more relaxing, our every need was catered for and we were left wanting for nothing. Charles and his lovely family have created the most incredible home, and we can’t thank them enough for sharing their amazing space so we could experience it for ourselves. We haven’t stopped singing praises about the property since we returned and would recommend everyone take the opportunity to visit this perfect home; couples, families and friends alike will certainly hold memories from their time here dearly. Thank you so much!
